Referring a patient to our practice.

We value our relationship with referring GPs and specialists across the KZN South Coast. Below is what to send, when to refer urgently, and how to reach Dr. Ntshalintshali directly.

How to refer

Fax or email a referral letter to reception@southcoastprc.co.za. Our reception will contact the patient within one working day to arrange the consultation.

What to include

Presenting complaint, relevant history, current medication list, key investigation results (bloods, imaging), and medical aid details.

Urgent referrals

For suspected new-onset inflammatory arthritis, GCA, or vasculitis, please call the rooms directly on +27 (0)39 312 5437 so we can arrange same-week review.

Suggested urgent-referral criteria

  • · New polyarthritis with joint swelling
  • · Suspected giant cell arteritis (jaw claudication, visual symptoms, raised ESR)
  • · Suspected systemic vasculitis (rash, mononeuritis, haematuria)
  • · Acute lupus flare with organ involvement
  • · Uncontrolled hypertension in a young patient
  • · Fever of unknown origin > 2 weeks

Feedback & shared care

A written consultation summary is sent to the referring practitioner after each visit. For patients on biologic therapy or complex multi-system disease we welcome a shared-care arrangement — please indicate this on your referral letter.
